BLUE AIR is a low-cost material, eco-friendly because obtained by rejects of insulating boards made for buildings and easy to be recycled, both by mechanical and chemical processes.
It appears as very small and very light pieces of blue foam polystyrene and the open-celled structure makes it really buoyant, waterproof and breathable at the same time, compression resistant, but especially makes it a optimal thermo-insulating material, thanks to the low conductivity (0,027-0,031 W/mK).
Just because of its thermo-insulating capacities, breathability, light and soft structure, Blue Air was evaluated the best material to be applied for padding the high-mountain jacket Quota Zero.
